Starting college Saturday!!

Hey everyone this is Casey, I'm blogging from my phone--something that I will be doing for a while since I won't have my computer.

I've got some good news for ya!
I start college this saturday September 12th. I will be in a dorm with 3 other guys 2 hours away from my house:) as far as I know i will be the first "CFer" to live in a dorm, now I know that can't possibly be true so if you, or someone you know who has cystic fibrosis lives, or has lived in a dorm let me know, because I would be glad to hear about it. I'm sure it will be an experience of a lifetime and it will be a lot of fun.

My college name is Texas Bible Institute and is located in Columbus TX. I will update my blog as often as I can with new info on what God is doing, as well as videos pictures etc.

Thank all of you for reading and feel free to message me anytime, you can find my email anywhere on my site!

YAY for college! Best of luck...you will be FINE in a dorm; just be careful. I know of several CF friends who have lived in dorms, and another CF/post-transplant who lived in a dorm post-transplant, which is even more risky!!!! Can I ask what your major is or do you know yet?? Keep us posted....don't party too hard :)

Hey Casey -

You'll do great in college, I'm sure! You're not the first CF'er to tackle living in a dorm and I'm sure you won't be the last. Maybe the first for your university? I lived in a dorm for a year and then several different apartments the first couple of years that I was in school. I eventually moved home and saved my money so that I could buy my first house after graduating. CF can't keep you (or me) from living a FULL life and enjoying every little ounce of it.

Have fun (but not too much fun!)

I lived in a dorm, then a sorority house. I actually did really well in them. I did find it hard to do my treatments and things with people around, but I had a great time doing it. Good Luck!!!
